I'm a vegetarian now

 I was sitting thinking, as I often do, that I needed to change something in my life. I do keep up with a serious exercise regimen and I realized that no matter how hard I worked I didn't see any changes and it occurred to me that a lot of the energy I was investing into my exercise routine I should've been investing in my diet. I don't eat right by any means. Eating is secondary to me and I mostly just eat whatever I can find because I need fuel. I know it sounds so dumb that I overlooked that but genuinely, I never properly understood the importance of a good diet and the 'you can't out-train a bad diet' rhetoric until now. Well, I did some research yesterday and made a meal plan for my breakfast, lunch and dinner. It was when I was making this meal plan I realized that, I don't even like meat. A lot of the meat we eat is drowning in oily stew and is fatty and just makes me feel heavy and gross after. I started looking into protein alternatives and today I had lentils and rice for lunch and it was delicious. I will only eat eggs as an animal product but technically eggs are not meat and they are allowed in the vegetarian diet.


I am kind of sad that like all this time I could've made serious progress in terms of my physique if I'd nailed my diet earlier. But, I have struggled with figuring out how to eat and I just have to think that all the mistakes I've made have led up to me arriving at this epiphany. Anyway, I'm excited to see my results months from now. 

Also, I join school on July 1st so fitness won't be the only thing I have to do. I mean, I guess having school will help because I'll have something to distract me and make the time feel like it's moving faster. Here's to a new change.
